ABOUT US:
Shaken Not Stirred is a company founded in 2019 with the mission to empower future generations by developing and implementing innovative education projects. Our two flagship initiatives are
42 em Portugal and
TUMO Portugal.
42 is one of the world’s leading coding schools, with over 52 campuses across 31 countries. It’s an inclusive school open to anyone, regardless of academic background or professional experience. The school employs a disruptive, peer-to-peer, project-based learning methodology with no classes, no teachers, and no schedules, boasting a 100% employability rate for its students.
42 Lisboa was launched in July 2020 by Shaken Not Stirred and has received almost 60,000 applications since then and +1000 students have passed by. A
second 42 campus opened in Porto in July 2022 with +600 students started. In 2024, Shaken Not Stirred implemented at 42 Porto the
SEA:ME Program - a 1-year Master's-level program in mobility software engineering, developed and owned by the Coding School 42 Wolfsburg in collaboration with industry leaders.
TUMO is a creative technologies center founded in Armenia, now present in over 10 countries. Aimed at young people aged 12 to 18, TUMO complements formal education by offering opportunities to develop skills in areas such as Music, Robotics, Animation, Game Development, Programming, Photography, Cinema, and Graphic Design. Each student follows a personalized learning path based on their progress and interests, guided by learning coaches and experts. The first TUMO center in Portugal opened in Coimbra in September 2023, and the second one in Lisboa in September 2024, each serving 1,500 students. The next one is going to open in Porto in September 2025, with plans for 10 centers nationwide and discussions already underway for expansions to Braga, Évora, and Portimão.
The above initiatives are completely free of charge, made possible by our generous donors and partners. Our mission is to promote upward social mobility and accelerate social growth in Portugal.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The
Head of Marketing will play a vital role in shaping the future of Shaken Not Stirred’s education projects, driving student recruitment for both 42 Portugal and TUMO Portugal. You will lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies designed to attract and engage diverse and talented student cohorts while ensuring alignment with the organization's goals for accessibility, diversity, and inclusion. Working closely with the Chief Growth & External Affairs Officer, you will oversee the full marketing funnel, from strategy design to execution and reporting, ensuring both volume and diversity targets are met for our programs.
- Strategy Development: Design a comprehensive strategy for student recruitment in collaboration with the Chief Growth & External Affairs Officer, ensuring alignment with organizational goals for numbers, mix, and diversity.
- Campaign Planning: Develop tailored marketing campaigns leveraging insights into target audiences, program objectives, and market trends. Define campaign goals, channels, budgets, and timelines to achieve desired outcomes.
- Digital Marketing Execution: Drive digital campaigns across platforms such as social media, search engines, and email marketing, ensuring precise targeting and measurable impact. Optimize online presence to boost visibility and engagement for 42 Portugal and TUMO Portugal.
- Community Engagement and Offline Outreach: Execute creative and impactful offline initiatives, including community events, school outreach programs, and partnerships with local organizations to connect directly with potential students and their families.
- Reporting: Monitor, manage, and report on recruitment performance metrics. Set up and control the student recruitment funnel, producing reports on application volumes, enrollment rates, and diversity metrics, and communicating results to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams to ensure campaigns and messaging align with broader organizational objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate the success of campaigns and adapt strategies to optimize impact and ROI.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in marketing, with a proven track record in designing and implementing impactful campaigns. Experience in educational or social-impact sectors is a plus.
- Knowledge of Digital Marketing: Expertise in managing digital advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.), SEO/SEM strategies, social media platforms, email marketing, and analytics tools.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to develop and execute strategies that align with both quantitative and qualitative objectives.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven approach with experience managing marketing funnels, tracking KPIs, and producing actionable insights.
- Creative Execution: Skilled at crafting compelling marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels.
- Inclusivity Champion: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in past initiatives.
- Collaborative Spirit: Exceptional ability to work cross-functionally and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
