As a band 5 MSK physiotherapist you will have to opportunity to learn along side developing your clinical skills for practice. Participation in our inhouse development program will also equip you with skills and attributes essential to the rest of your career. As the successful candidate you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership skills. Good organisation skills: able to plan own work but also work effectively within a team. Ability to prioritise and make sound decisions, sometimes under pressure. You will carry a varied caseload of musculoskeletal complaints with a view to utilise all treatment and care options as appropriate, with the support of a named supervisor.
To carry out effective and appropriate assessments using knowledge and skills combined with clinical reasoning and also to contribute towards accurate diagnosis.
- Work with patients to identify and agree treatment goals delivering patient centred care based on assessment out-comes, which demonstrate an appreciation of the complex interaction of risk, safety, patient choice, shared decision making, independence, areas of conflict and eligibility for the services
- Use communication, reasoning and negotiation skills to establish a working partnership with patients, families and carers identifying barriers to communication
- Plan and lead patient group sessions as clinically relevant
- Address all risk areas associated with individual patient’s ability to function
- Contribute to effective discharge planning
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of interventions/treatments using outcome measures
- Represent the Physiotherapy Service within the multidisciplinary team and participate in relevant team/network meetings, clinics and to contribute to the discussion and planning of patient care.
- Work with assistants and technical instructors regarding clinical caseloads and provide necessary support on clinical issues
