Position Overview:
The Financial Analyst will support the finance team in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent numerical skills, and a good understanding of retail finance operations, including inventory management and expense control.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
- Assist in analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Collaborate with the finance team to provide insights on key financial metrics.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Help prepare budgets and financial forecasts by gathering and analyzing relevant data.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Assist in creating detailed financial models to support business decisions.
Inventory and Cost Analysis:
- Analyze inventory-related financial data to ensure proper stock control and minimize losses.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to assess cost efficiency and margins.
- Support the team in maintaining accurate inventory valuation reports.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all financial documents are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with internal policies and local regulations.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits and compliance checks.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting efficiency.
- Support the implementation of new tools and systems for improved financial management.
Reporting and Support:
- Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and analytical support to the finance team as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in General Accounting, preferably in the retail sector.
- Familiarity with inventory management processes is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
