Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
- Coordinate with production planning and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Implement inventory control processes to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
- Optimize inventory levels to support production schedules and minimize carrying costs.
2. Production Support:
- Coordinate transportation of raw materials to production facilities and finished goods to distribution centers or customers.
- Work closely with production managers to ensure seamless integration of logistics operations with manufacturing processes.
3. Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and components.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery delays, or non-compliance.
- Optimize supply chain processes to reduce lead times, transportation costs, and inventory levels.
4. Transportation Management:
- Manage the company's fleet of vehicles or coordinate with third-party carriers to transport goods between production facilities, warehouses, and distribution centre's.
- Optimize transportation routes to minimize costs, reduce transit times, and improve delivery efficiency.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and driver performance to ensure safe and reliable transportation operations.
5. Warehousing and Distribution:
- Oversee warehousing operations to ensure efficient storage, handling, and distribution of goods.
- Implement warehouse management systems to track inventory, manage storage space, and optimize picking and packing processes.
- Coordinate with distribution teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment for customers.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements related to transportation and logistics operations.
- Develop risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain
- Implement security measures to protect shipments from theft, damage, or loss during transportation.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains in logistics and fleet operations.
- Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance metrics and identify areas for optimization.
- Implement new technologies, such as transportation management systems or route optimization software, to enhance logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years' of related experience in Logistics .
- Strong Warehouse experience – ability to manage Logistics KPI’s.
- Previous experience handling logistics for Manufacturing FMCG .
- The candidate shall be presentable and possess a professional attitude
- Excellent skills in MS Office Applications (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of International Trade, Import Operations and UAE Customs Laws
- Strong quantitative background with an excellent understanding of the issues and processes required to deliver high quality results.
