GEMS Cambridge International School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Year 11, qualified to teach either History or Science. This key leadership role requires a strong commitment to pastoral care, academic success, and fostering a positive school culture. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and personal development of our learners, ensuring they are fully prepared for their GCSE examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Year 11 learners, parents, and teachers regarding pastoral matters, academic progress, and student welfare.
- Monitor student attendance, behaviour, and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing interventions where necessary.
- Provide academic guidance and support, working closely with form tutors, subject teachers, and the Senior Leadership Team to track progress and address concerns.
- Lead and organise year group assemblies, events, and activities that promote personal growth, academic excellence, and a strong sense of community.
- Support learners in their preparations for GCSEs, coordinating revision sessions and study skills workshops.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including parents and examination bodies, to ensure that students are on track for success.
- Collaborate with the History or Science department (depending on your subject specialism) to contribute to high-quality teaching and learning in your area of expertise.
