Job Overview
We are currently seeking a Junior Librarian to join our team at the Podar Education Network in Pune, Chakan. This is a full-time position suited for individuals with 1 to 3 years of work experience. The role involves managing library services, ensuring efficient information organization, and supporting the academic and recreational needs of our students.
Qualifications And Skills
- Proficiency in library science for efficient library setup and operations, ensuring resources meet users' needs (Mandatory skill).
- Expertise in information organization to systematically categorize and store library materials for easy retrieval (Mandatory skill).
- Strong communication skills to interact with students and staff, assisting in finding resources and resolving queries (Mandatory skill).
- Effective research skills to support students in academic projects, providing access to reliable and diverse information sources.
- Excellent customer service skills to create a welcoming environment and address user inquiries professionally.
- Ability to perform cataloging tasks accurately, ensuring that all library materials are accounted for and easily accessible.
- Competency in digital literacy to guide users in navigating electronic resources and digital catalogs effectively.
- Keen attention to detail in maintaining library records, processing new materials, and adhering to procedures for resource management.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the library, including circulation, cataloging, and shelving of books and materials.
- Assist students and faculty with research inquiries and resource access, enhancing their learning and teaching experience.
- Create a friendly and informative library environment that encourages reading and lifelong learning.
- Organize and update library collections, ensuring resources are current, relevant, and in optimal condition.
- Instruct library users on utilizing digital resources and tools, fostering an understanding of library operations and technology.
- Coordinate student library activities and events to promote literacy and engagement within the school community.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain precise records of library resources and usage statistics.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum, supporting educational outcomes.
