Position Overview: NCH is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for GL entry booking and supporting the Finance Manager for Financial Reporting of our company. This role requires an individual who can maintain accurate records, reconcile GLs, and lead monthly and & yearly closing and reporting processes along with the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Document Verification:
- Verify and post Expenses & Revenue transactions.
- Check documents before posting and ensure accurate coding, ensure approval and booking in correct GLs.
Monthly and Year-End Closing:
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes and reporting
- Prepare monthly accrual for Customer Rebates as per BDAs & details of activities shared by Sales & Marketing Teams
- Ensure all accruals booked are compliant with IFRS standards and internal policies.
- Prepare GL reconciliations for monthly and yearly Closing
- Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analysis for monthly closing vs PAGO, YAGO and Budgets and reasoning for change.
- Coordinate with other departments i.e Sales, Marketing, Supply chain & IT to ensure completeness of monthly Expenses & Accrual booking
- Prepare and share department and channel wise reports and share with Stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts by coordinating with stakeholders to collect data & projections.
Audit Support:
- Provide support during external audit processes.
- Assist in fulfilling annual audit report requirements.
Tax Reporting:
- Prepare data for quarterly VAT filing purposes and ensure the compliance with FTA requirements.
- Corporate Tax compliance and calculation for CT provision facilitation.
System Improvement:
- Continuously assess and improve the accounting system to reflect current business and legislative requirements.
- Provide recommendations and updates for accounting systems and controls.
Policy Maintenance:
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in reference to IFRS and latest regulations.
- Maintain and update transfer pricing policies and other relevant policies.
- Recommend improvements in accounting processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments and support by providing data and guidance from a compliance perspective .
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to convey insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial goals are met.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as an Reporting accountant for a minimum of 7 years (Preferred in Healthcare or FMCG Industry) in UAE or Gulf
- Working knowledge for Transfer pricing, Group level accounts Consolidation, VAT & CT.
- Proficiency in MD 365 or similar ERP systems; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
- Strong understanding of IFRS standards and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; skilled in financial data analysis and report generation.
- High attention to detail and accuracy; effective organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; effective in cross-functional teamwork with procurement, warehouse departments, Sales & Marketing Department.
- Experience supporting external audits and familiarity with audit processes.
- Knowledge of VAT and tax regulations; skilled in preparing tax reports and filings.
- Ability to assess and improve accounting systems and processes; experience with cost control measures, process improvements, and identifying cost-saving strategies.
Preferred Skills:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or ACCA/CIMA/CMA/CPA/ACMA
- Experience in the healthcare or FMCG industries relevant to the company’s operations.
