Job Purpose:
To oversee the planning and execution of production operations whilst ensuring optimization of organizational resources, achievement of production targets as per the agreed schedules in accordance with the relevant food, quality and safety laws, regulations, laws and standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze yearly production requirements to assess machinery, manpower, and special requirements for efficient production planning
- Plan and deploy production resources ensuring optimal utilization of employees, machinery, and production workspace in accordance with the agreed production schedules
- Examine current workloads to ensure the effective distribution of tasks ensuring optimal and safe utilization of all resources which includes the production employees
- Track and monitor the relevant parameters to ensure sustainability goals for waste reduction, energy efficiency, lower emissions, and other environmental factors that affect NFL environmental footprint are adhered to at all times
- Analyze any issues related to the conditions and standards of machinery and equipment, seek feedback from the Production Supervisors to understand specific issues and take corrective actions in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure regular maintenance schedules are planed in and carried out as per the manufacturer’s recommendations and/or historical production data
- Track, monitor and report on operations related expenses which includes Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Operational Excellence (OpEx) and highlight and variances of actuals vs planned
- Track, monitor and report on all relevant KPIs relating to operational efficiency and productivity
- Ensure all employee in the operations team are properly trained and upskilled in relevant occupational health and safety standards (OHSAS) and good manufacturing practice (GMP), and any other quality requirements
- Regularly inspect the production floor to ensure compliance with GMP, OHSAS, ISO, and production schedules
- Guide the goal-setting process for direct reports, evaluating their performance against established objectives, and identify areas for further training and skill development
- Develop mitigation strategies for identified risks, including contingency plans for high impact scenarios
- Liaise with the IR Specialist to ensure employee relations are handled in accordance with the labor laws to avoid legal disputes
- Keep abreast with the latest developments in operations management and industry trends to ensure NFL maintains a best practice approach at all times
Background Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with 10-12 years of experience
Or
- Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline with 8-10 years of experience
