Applications are invited for a LAS FY2 in the cardiothoracic Department at the Royal Stoke Hospital. This post provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in cardiothoracic. The post is for 8 months with a possibility of extension thereafter. The post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day care of cardiothoracic patients, working in conjunction with cardiothoracic middle-grades, consultants and allied professionals to provide high quality care to our patients. Participation in the on-call rota, including out of hours and weekend working is required as part of the post.
- Initial clerking, assessment and management of all cardiothoracic patients admitted.
- Management of all patients on the wards and any outlying wards.
- Referral of patients to other specialities.
- Necessary emergency investigation, treatment and escalation
