East and West Express, a leading logistics company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Coordinator. Oversee, facilitate and co-ordinate the operational and customer service component of any freight forwarding, removal, customs clearance, transportation, logistics job. This will include communication and follow up with the customers, the suppliers and the operational staff of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Opening the job file in the EWE tracking system. Entering required financial and ops data through the job’s life cycle.
- Obtaining, reviewing and preparing documentation to meet the shipping lines, airlines, transport, customs, and international agents.
- When required, negotiating rates with relevant suppliers to complete the job and maintain proper records of these rates.
- In conjunction with the sales staff, provide selling rates to the customers for specific jobs and maintain proper records of these rates.
- Arranging export/import documents to be submitted for translation and computation of customs duty and checking other relevant documents to customs.
- Providing regular updates/reports to the customer on the shipment status throughout the lifecycle and when required.
- Follow up with seaport/ airport brokers regarding shipment’s customs clearance and related documents to be submitted to customs authorities.
- Coordinate with the transporter/EWE warehouse for receiving and delivery of cleared shipments.
- Arranging insurance and assisting the client in the event of a claim.
- Follow up to obtain all services documentation provided by the suppliers such as proof of delivery, bills of lading, container documentation, etc… and include in the job file.
- Maintaining the relevant job file to include all relevant communication with suppliers, all relevant rates negotiated with the suppliers, all relevant communication with the customer and all relevant rates offered to the customers.
- Within one week of job completion, finalize the job costing sheet and hand over job file to the billing officer.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in the logistics industry.
- Detailed oriented
- Flexible and able to adapt to customer requirements
- Knowledge of the global and local freight forwarding requirements and customs regulation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate well with a wide range of people
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to customer demands.
