Job Title: Admissions Counsellor
Job Summary
The Junior Education Counsellor will play a key role in advising students on academic programs, career opportunities, and other educational pathways. In this entry-level role, you will assist in providing one-on-one guidance, offering resources, and supporting students as they make critical decisions about their education and future careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations with students and their families to understand their educational goals and aspirations.
- Provide students with information about educational programs, application processes, scholarships, and career pathways.
- Assist students in identifying and setting realistic academic and career goals.
- Collaborate with senior counsellors to develop personalized education plans and strategies for students.
- Keep up-to-date with educational program offerings, admission requirements, and emerging trends in education.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, and informational sessions to educate students on various educational and career options.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and follow up with students to monitor progress.
Requirements
- Previous experience (internship, volunteer work, etc.) in an academic advising, counselling, or related role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students and families.
- A genuine interest in supporting students and an understanding of the challenges they may face.
- Knowledge of academic programs, application processes, and education trends is a plus.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
