An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1 year fixed term Band 6 Infection Research Nurse at University College London Hospital (UCLH), within the Infection Division.
Research within the Infection Division works in close collaboration with UCL Infection Clinical Research Hub (ICRH).
The Research Department of Infection (RDI) is a world-leading center of research and teaching in pathogen biology, immune regulation and translational medicine.
RDI undertakes world-leading research and teaching on infectious disease, advancing and integrating basic and clinical research to understand and overcome pathogens of global importance. This means working in areas such as: TB, Covid-19 or Malaria just to name a few.
Infection Clinical Research Hub (ICRH) provide support for research involving both patients and healthy volunteers.
Working within this research group will give you experience and understanding in areas such as TB, Covid 19, Flu viruses, Malaria and Giardia.
The Main Purpose Of This Role Is
- Active and professional member of ICRH team
- As a research nurse you will work as an autonomous specialist within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Responsible for the coordination and support of research projects and trials with UCLH and UCL
- The post holder will be expected to develop specialized skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials, the therapies and relevant disease types.
- Competent skills to enable the patients and volunteers to make informed choices concerning their involvement in research by providing advice and information and acting as the patient’s advocate.
The post holder will work within the Infection Clinical Research Hub team and report to the lead research nurse and the Matron for the division.
The post holder with work closely with University College London (UCL) and will be expected to gain an honorary UCL contract.
The post holder does not need to have prior research experience but will be engaged and interested in research.
