The Senior Strategic Planning Specialist plays a critical role in shaping the long-term strategic direction of the organization. This individual will be responsible for analyzing market trends, industry shifts, and internal capabilities to help formulate and execute strategic initiatives that drive growth, enhance organizational performance, and optimize business opportunities. The Senior Strategic Planning Specialist will collaborate with leadership teams across various departments to ensure alignment with company objectives and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analysis & Market Research:
- Lead in-depth analysis of market conditions, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.
- Conduct SWOT analysis to identify opportunities and threats, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Gather and interpret business intelligence and data to support decision-making.
- Strategy Development & Execution:
- Assist in the development of the organization’s long-term strategic plans, ensuring they align with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify key strategic priorities and goals, and develop detailed roadmaps for achieving them.
- Develop business cases and financial models to evaluate the viability of proposed strategic initiatives.
- Oversee the execution of strategic plans, tracking milestones and deliverables to ensure successful implementation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., Marketing, Operations, Finance, HR) to integrate strategic objectives across the business.
- Foster strong working relationships with senior leadership to ensure effective communication and alignment on strategy.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting progress, results, and recommendations for course correction when necessary.
- Conduct periodic reviews of strategies to ensure they remain relevant and impactful.
- Change Management & Continuous Improvement:
- Champion change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new strategies and initiatives across the organization.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement in strategic planning processes and tools.
- Leadership & Mentorship:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior strategic planning team members, helping to develop their skills and knowledge in strategic analysis and execution.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, offering strategic insights and recommendations to inform business decisions.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- At least 6-8 years of experience in strategic planning, business analysis, or related fields, with a proven track record of driving successful business strategies.
- Experience in government entities is highly preferred.
- Strong experience with strategic planning tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
