Job Summary
The Senior Contracts Manager will oversee the negotiation, administration, and management of contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves developing contract strategies, advising on legal terms, and ensuring the effective execution and performance of contracts. The Senior Contracts Manager will collaborate with various departments to mitigate risks, resolve contract disputes, and drive contract compliance across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities/Deliverables
- Lead negotiations with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to secure favourable terms and conditions.
- Draft, review, and revise contracts to ensure clarity, completeness, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop standard contract templates and guidelines to streamline the contract process.
- Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage contract changes and amendments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding contract interpretation and obligations.
- Identify and assess contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Resolve contract-related disputes and issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure that contract terms adhere to legal, ethical, and corporate standards.
- Work closely with legal, procurement, finance, and project management teams to ensure alignment and effective contract execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries and issues.
- Prepare and present reports on contract status, performance, and compliance to senior management.
- Analyse contract data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all contracts and practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)) is preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in a similar role on construction projects.
