My client provides derivatives and commoditiesbrokerage services to customers worldwide, highly respected and successful, and now looking to bring onboard a junior to one of their trading teams where you'll be immersed in the day to day running of the desk, and fully trained towards taking a trading role in approx 18 months time.

Role Description

We are looking for a high calibre, Mathematics related graduate to join as a trading assistant in our proprietary and market making operation. The desk is well established, successfully trading EUR, GBP and US rate options.

As part of an expansionary phase into other products, an opportunity has arisen for a trading assistant to join the team. For the successful individual, the role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands on experience in a small, highly skilled options trading team.

Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day operations of the trading desk running P&L attribution, risk reports, trade processing, cash management and other ad hoc tasks.

Improving existing reporting processes and advancing risk analysis.

Taking ownership of hedging and optimising hedging schemes.

Involvement in desk discussions on macro views, flow, strategy, risk etc.

Essential Skills

Bachelors or Masters degree in from a top tier institution in a quantitative discipline - e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or similar.

Any experience, maybe internship, in a similar role at a market-maker, hedge fund or trading house would be a bonus

Excellent analytical skills, detail focused with ability to communicate complex ideas succinctly and coherently

Self-starter, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a small team in a fast-paced environment

Quick learner with an ambitious and results driven personality.

Some knowledge of financial instruments (e.g. volatility trading) would be beneficial.

Technically proficient in VBA and/or Python.

The team works 6.30am (markets open 7am) to 5.15pm, 5 days a week in the London office so you'll need to be comfortable with these hours and able to get to the City location accordingly.
