Position Overview: The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and fostering a positive kitchen environment. This role requires culinary expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Assist in menu planning and recipe development.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Ensure proper food presentation and garnishing.
- Kitchen Management:
- Supervise kitchen staff and delegate tasks effectively.
- Ensure efficient kitchen workflow and communication.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Quality Control:
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation.
- Conduct regular quality checks on food items and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Training & Development:
- Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety practices.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.

- Cost Control:
- Assist in managing food costs and minimizing waste.
- Monitor portion sizes and ensure consistency in food quality.
- Participate in inventory audits and cost analysis.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to implement new dishes and specials.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Address customer feedback and adjust menu items accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
