An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Colorectal Straight-to-Test Administrator within the Surgery Department. This role is vital in the day-to-day running of the administrative and clerical functions of the Straight-to-Test process and supporting the department/Operational Managers to ensure service is delivered.
Job Summary:
- To assist in the smooth running of the colorectal service providing an accurate real-time master schedule for specific Consultants.
- To perform regular data quality and validation duties to maintain clean data.
- To assist in, the day-to-day running of administrative and clerical functions of the Straight-to-Test process.
- To ensure adherence to the Trust's Policies and Procedures, by assisting in staff training and awareness.
- Ensure a helpful and efficient service is provided to patients and staff by supervising and participating in the day-to-day activities of the department. Liaising with colleagues for coordination of diverse aspects of work and supporting team members through offering advice, guidance and support as appropriate.
- Assist the Operational Support Manager/Operational Manager with any requirements to ensure service is delivered.
Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE English, Grade C or above
Experience
- Ability to demonstrate confidentiality and trustworthiness
- A willingness to be flexible and to work as part of a team
- Self-motivated
- Excellent customer care skills
- Ability to achieve a high level of accuracy while ensuring deadlines are met
- Willingness and ability to work Bank Holidays and Saturdays and overtime on occasion
- Ability to deal with clinicians, general practitioners, management, staff, patients and the general public
Skills And Knowledge
- Working knowledge of out-patient clinic preparation and delivery
- The ability to work using own initiative without supervision
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer & keyboard skills
- Working knowledge of a Patient Administration System
- Working knowledge of MS Office, including e-mail and Excel
