The Group Logistics Senior Manager oversees and manages the group's logistics operations, ensuring that the transportation and delivery of vehicles, spare parts, goods, and services are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with industry regulations. The role involves strategic planning, budget management, team leadership, and working closely with various departments to optimize supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with the group's business goals and customer needs
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of logistics operations across all areas (transportation, warehousing, inventory management, distribution)
- Optimize transportation routes and processes to reduce costs while maintaining service levels
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in logistics operations through process optimization and innovation
Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the logistics team, including transportation managers, warehouse supervisors, and support staff
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and training to team members to foster a high-performing work culture
- Oversee staffing and resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency
Budgeting & Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost control and optimizing logistics spending
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics and supply chain efficiency (e.g., delivery times, transportation costs, inventory turnover)
- Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and other vendors
Supply Chain & Vendor Management:
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure seamless coordination and communication
- Evaluate, select, and manage third-party logistics providers, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and safety standards related to logistics and transportation
Logistics Operations Oversight:
- Oversee the daily operations of warehouse, transportation, and inventory management systems
- Ensure effective inventory control and warehouse management practices, including proper storage, handling, and distribution of goods
- Troubleshoot and resolve logistics-related issues on time, minimizing disruptions to the supply chain
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Utilize logistics management software and data analytics to track and analyze logistics performance
- Prepare regular reports on logistics operations, including cost analyses, performance metrics, and potential areas for improvement
- Identify trends and make data-driven decisions to enhance operational efficiency
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation, customs, and safety regulations
- Identify potential risks in logistics operations and develop strategies to mitigate those risks (e.g., natural disasters, transportation delays, regulatory changes)
- Ensure that logistics operations meet environmental sustainability standards where applicable
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience managing logistics teams and large-scale transportation and warehousing operations.
