Role Objective
The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager will report directly to the Talent Acquisition, Management and Development Function Head and will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing and managing the learning and development programs and curriculums for all employees and ensure that relevant employees receive their training in a timely manner. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for updating the e-learning platform, providing access to employees to continuous learn and grow. The L&D Manager will also support in providing guidance and reskilling training to specific talent pool employees, in line with Oman Air's new direction and transformation goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Learning and Development:
I. Develop and implement the L&D strategy in line with Oman Air's Transformation and the overall HR Strategy, and cascade it to quick-win initiatives that are easily actionable and cost-effective.
2.Deliver the Online Learning Platform/Learning Management System (LMS) and aim to digitize some of the in-class learnings, where applicable.
3.Leverage use of technology to enhance learning experience.
4.Develop and update specific training program content including orientation technical skills, leadership development, compliance training and more and tailor the training to specific employee groups.
5.Devise recommendations to capitalize on the recently deployed performance management system and improve employee L&D through a tailored training curriculum to tackle the development objectives per employee.
6.0versee the Learning and Development team to identify training needs and implement targeted programs.
7.Develop and implement career progression pathways and mentorship programs that align with Oman Air's strategic transformation objectives.
8.Collaborate with external trainers to bring in industry-specific expertise.
9.Leverage data and analytics and KPI metrics to measure the effectiveness of L&D and provide insights for continuous improvement.
10.Guide, coach and mentor the L&D department to foster growth and development.
11.Stay updated with market and industry trends, emerging learning technologies and best practices in L&D and integrate innovative approaches into Oman Air's training programs.
12.Prepare periodic progress updates for the Talent Acquisition, Management and Development Function Head.
Collaboration and Coordination:
13.Work closely with all department heads to tailor employee's training to target their development needs areas and provide resources to enhance their professional skills and career development accordingly.
14.Evaluate and onboard external training vendors, negotiate contracts and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure high-quality training delivery.
15.Work closely with the Talent Recruiting to identify skill gaps and develop strategies to attract and retain top talent through L&D opportunities.
16.Ensure a robust L&D system and software is in place and coordinate with HR Systems Admin to link it to the broader HR Systems.
17.Regularly report KPIs to the Talent Acquisition, Management and Development Function Head to track the effectiveness of recruitment and pipeline management.
18.Any other tasks assigned by management.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR Learning and Development with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial position, preferably within the aviation industry.
Ideal Experience:
- Extensive experience designing and implementing L&D strategies/programs in complex organizations, ideally in the aviation industry.
- In-depth knowledge of L&D methods.
- Experience in overseeing the planning, development and delivery of diverse training programs to address changing workforce needs.
- Robust management capabilities, exhibiting excellent team management and interpersonal skills.
- Experience conducting periodic feedback and coaching sessions to address employees performance concerns and facilitate development requirements.
- Proven experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing learning management systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms to enhance remote training.
- Knowledgeable about change management principles with demonstrated ability to assist employees in navigating performance management during transformative and evolving work environments.

- Comprehensive understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices in Oman and the aviation industry.
