Role Objective
The Line Maintenance Management Manager is responsible for managing the line maintenance outsourcing process and ensuring the successful execution of contracts. Key responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of RFQ documents, analyzing technical offers, and leading negotiations. The manager ensures the selection of the most competitive and reliable maintenance service providers and monitors contract progress, compliance, and performance. Furthermore, the manager takes necessary actions to ensure timely execution and adherence to technical, financial, and legal requirements.
Area of responsibility
- Provide overall strategic direction and guidance for the line maintenance outsourcing process.
- Oversee and review the preparation of the request for quotation (“the RFQ”) document which is comprehensive to cover all terms and conditions as per maintenance activity outsourcing requirement of the Company.
- Review and analyze the technical offers received from MROs and lead the negotiation for the most competitive offer.
- Monitor the progress and performance of contracts, including the completion of condition precedent and condition subsequent, and taking necessary actions to ensure timely execution.
- Ensure that contracts, LOIs, MoUs, and Term Sheets are framed in an acceptable manner to meet the technical, financial, insurance, and legal requirements of both parties and drive the contract till final execution in timely manner as per process and policy of the Company.
- Establish and maintain a systematic process for documentation and retrieval of contract-related information.
- Prepare and provide regular updates and reports to Aircraft Asset Management and Maintenance Function Head and senior management on the progress, performance, and key metrics of the line maintenance management activities.
- Prioritize and manage multiple contracts simultaneously, addressing any concerns or issues that may delay contract closure, and providing guidance to the junior employee on resolving such issues.
- Reviewing and finalizing contract summaries and obtaining signatures of stakeholders for contract finalization and execution.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Legal, to ensure alignment and coordination in the line maintenance outsourcing process.
- Ensure the staff’s Business Ethics and Core Values are implemented and followed correctly.
- Conduct and monitor the performance of the staff and provide the necessary feedback and guidance for improvements.
- Maintain effective communication channels with line maintenance management staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment (regular team meetings, addressing concerns, etc.)
- Identify and evaluate potential new maintenance service providers and conducting due diligence to assess their capabilities, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams or projects related to line maintenance optimization, cost reduction initiatives, or process improvement efforts.
- Lead the Product development segment for Inflight Entertainment & Connectivity System in terms of Hardware & Software delivery
- Manage and lead the linefit and Retrofit program for the selection, development and installation of required hardware and software as per Oman Air definition
- Oversee the program milestone such as software development, Integrations and software freeze
- Work closely with Aircraft OEM, Seat vendors and other applicable BFE/SFE for timely resolution and delivery of items asper program definition.
- Oversee, manage and direct the core working group team for the development of hardware and software including total program management, in harmony with development engineering and technical project team.
- Ensure all the requirements related to Certifications and Licensing are in place for both retrofit and linefit programs.
- Ensure full coordination with cross-functional team and or project team for aircraft program delivery schedule such as ITCM, PDR/CDR, FSATs, ODD and FAI etc.
- Facilitate and supervise the initial and in-service RSPL to ensure timely order and utilization of parts ensuring no hindrance to service whatsoever
- Ensure total ownership for the execution of commercial and technical milestone as per aircraft program type.
- Other duties and tasks that may be assigned by management
Education & Experience
- 8+ years of experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role in an Engineering / Finance / Operations department in aviation (mandatory).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or finance or accounting or related field. Postgraduate degree/ accreditation such as MBA / CPA preferred.
- Proficiency in finance and accounting principles.
- Strong ethical conduct with dedication to maintaining ethical standards across all corporate matters and adhering to the aviation industry laws and Code of Conduct.
