Are you interested in making a difference to the lives of children and parents living in Torbay? We have three vacant positions for Home to School Transport Escorts. This is a term time-only position, and you would need to be available from 7.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4.30pm Monday to Friday to cover school runs throughout the Bay.
The position will be supervising children with special educational needs and disabilities on their journeys to and from school. You will need to be sensitive to individual needs and provide reassurance and assistance. You will also communicate with parents and organisational staff to ensure the safety of passengers.
This is a rolling advert for School Transport Escorts. Once you have applied, if your application is successful we will arrange the interview as soon as possible.
This post will be carrying out Regulated Activity. As such the post will require an Enhanced Criminal Record Check plus an additional Barred List Check. The check will reveal any spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions (which have not been filtered), any local Police information and a check of either the Adult, Child or Adult and Child Barred Lists.

Skills
Essential:
- You will need to be sensitive to individual needs, providing reassurance and assistance. You will also communicate with parents and organisational staff to ensure the passengers have a
safe journey whilst using our services.
- Ability to care for others.
- Effective customer care skills.
- Basic level of literacy and good verbal skills.
- Basic level of IT literacy.
As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
Knowledge
Desirable:
- Knowledge of safeguarding.
Experience & Qualifications
