OVERALL PURPOSE:
Oversee the department goal, ensuring to handle company needs on an urgent basis, understand the directions and requirements, meet management expectations with solid solutions, and be responsible for providing full-time technical support to the Projects, Asset Management, and will ensure that all practices are in alignment with company best practice requirements. In addition to developing the project and asset management processes, KPIs, procedures, and the associated tools and templates for the department in line with the best international practices.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Participates in the development and implementation of the department's strategy, objectives, and KPIs. Communicates and promotes the department's strategy across all relevant stakeholders.
- Participates in the development and implementation of the department's policies and procedures.
- Contributes to the planning of the department's annual budget and optimizes the use of the budget.
- Monitor staff achievements, perform periodic performance appraisals, and provide guidance or coaching to direct reports in performing their delegated duties.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Have strong technical acumen to suggest new technologies, products, and cost estimate optimization in the water and wastewater treatment sector. Provides the company and the team with proper technical advice and support.
- Creative, innovative, good communication skills, team player, ability to organize work, and highly motivated leader.
- Provides leadership, direction, guidance, and a track record in the management of multi-discipline engineers and diverse engineering and technical activities.
- Broad experience in designing water and wastewater treatment plants with broad knowledge of local and international standards governing both systems.
- Ability to review designs and direct subordinates to proper reviews to meet deliverables deadlines.
- Develop and revise Requests for Proposal (RFP) documents ability to estimate time and cost estimation for newly planned plants. Good knowledge in contracting and assessment of new technologies/products.
- Analyze client requirements, plan, manage time, determine priorities, and assign duties to subordinates; provide guidance; ensure proper solutions are proposed and directions to meet client objectives and deliverables on time. Attain client satisfaction and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience in variation orders, cost optimization, and value engineering validation of international practices.
- Proven experience in project management, asset management, and operation & maintenance in water and wastewater utilities.
- Good working knowledge on planning and rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructures.
- Experience in the privatization of assets and developing the relevant frameworks and guidelines.
- Travel to site as required and perform any additional duties as required.
- Regularly review the staff's performance and develop a training plan for them.
