Junior Womenswear Designer Job Role
A leading high street supplier to ASOS and River Island is looking to recruit a Junior Womenswear Designer to work closely with the Design manager/Senior designers/Design team. To research and develop product with a commercial eye which reflects the latest trend/catwalk information and is customer specific to generate sales.
Responsibilities
- Catwalk/blog reports, ensuring latest info is available to other members of staff
- Regular research/comp shop trips to stay on top of high street trends
- Range planning with Senior Designer
- Chase through samples actioned with factory
- Attend customer meetings
- Build relationships with buying and design team
- Oversee internal product development
- Logging in new samples/sent samples. Assist with DHL when help is required
Are you a Junior Womenswear Designer who is:
- Dynamic, creative, flexible
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Confident in Design software
- Willingness to travel
Skills & Knowledge
- Excellent commercial and business knowledge
- PC literate with good administration skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience
- Relevant sector experience (softs separates/ tailoring and outerwear)
