Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies, considering the company’s goals and objectives.
- Design preventive maintenance plans, predictive maintenance programs, and equipment replacement schedules.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and assessments to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks.
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and optimize resource allocation to meet maintenance objectives.
- Establish and enforce maintenance procedures and standards to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with production departments to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities, minimizing production disruptions.
- Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance tasks, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment modifications.
- Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize maintenance expenditures without compromising quality or safety.
- Monitor and control expenses related to spare parts, equipment procurement, and contracted maintenance services.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to procure necessary equipment, spare parts, and maintenance services.
- Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and monitor service level agreements to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering effective communication and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance processes, methodologies, and technologies.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
- Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and condition-based maintenance (CBM) strategies to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and enforce safety procedures, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance department.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance logs.
- Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators, maintenance costs, equipment reliability metrics, and downtime analysis for management review.
- Analyze data and provide insights to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Carry out any other activities as and when required by the reporting manager.
Experience
Minimum - 8 years of experience, including a minimum of 2 years at a managerial level in a similar function.
Qualifications
Education Level – Minimum - bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent.
Competencies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Solid understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and condition-based maintenance (CBM) methodologies.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
