Overview
The candidate shall be the party leader to the environment and social deliverables of the company. The business sphere ranges from the Lender’s international experts to the local workers, international Subcontractors, government officials and the local community. The candidate should have excellent analytical, leadership, English communication, reporting and writing skills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the environment and social performance deliverables of the company to accomplish the Lender’s E&S requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively lead the environment and social department.
- Monitor, evaluate and control the environment, health, social, human resources, grievances and other relevant performance deliverables of the Subcontractors and ensure strict compliance to the Lender’s performance standards.
- Build excellent public relations with the relevant Government of Nepal offices and the community.
- Grievance handling from the community, workers and others.
- Analyzing and writing press releases and reports.
- Ensure the Subcontractors environment, social and human resources undertakings to the legal compliance.
- Stakeholder engagement.
- Environment, social, health and human resource risk assessment and mitigation.
- Periodically audit the Subcontractors relevant performance and take immediate corrective actions.
- Develop and implement the environment and social strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in sociology, management, law or related field from reputed institution.
- Proven working experience of 7 to 10 years in similar works, capacity and organization. Candidate with the similar work experience in the police, army, education, international organization and donor agencies or the legal sector is desired.
- Proactive with strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Experience in working in an international organization and the IFC performance standards. Ability to convenience the Lenders, international Subcontractors and the workers
Note
Duration: One year with possibility of extension till the end of the Project (Project Completion: 31st Dec. 2026)
Duty Station: Project Site, Rasuwa Nepal with travel as required by the work.
