Job Brief
Outside, a design & tech studio, is looking for a Trainee, Quality Assurance to join our team in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are looking for individuals who would like to explore the world of web application design and development. Some prominent examples of web development done by the Outside team are Reality Defenders
, Firefly and Outside based on tech stack such as Wordpress, Shopify, Webflow and exploring other tech stacks. Some prominent examples of web application development done by the Outside team are Yorba, Folio, Copilot apps, Global Portal based on tech stacks such as NodeJS, NestJS, ReactJS, NextJS, etc. and exploring other tech stacks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the QA team to understand testing requirements, processes, and strategies.
- Assist in creating and executing test cases, particularly for WordPress and Shopify websites.
- Conduct manual testing on website functionalities, ensuring compatibility across different browsers and devices.
- Learn how to test for user experience (UX) elements, site performance, and responsiveness.
- Help in identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs or issues, collaborating with developers for resolution.
- Perform regular regression testing, ensuring new updates or features do not affect existing site functionality.
- Gain exposure to automated testing tools and workflows specific to WordPress and Shopify platforms.
- Participate in team meetings to understand project requirements, site functionalities, and QA best practices.
- Learn and adopt agile methodologies and principles as part of a fast-paced startup team.
Skills
- Knowledge of testing and debugging
- Problem-solving ability
- A keen interest in web app development and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and familiarity with project management tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, etc.) is an advantage.
The traineeship program will lead to a full-time role based on the performance of 3 months.
