Our client, a leading supply chain provider of turnkey and customised solutions with projects across the Middle East and Africa has engaged our services exclusively to recruit an experienced Finance Controller.
Role Description
You will be expected to quickly integrate into the team and leverage your prior experiences to deliver immediate results. Drawing on your expertise, you will play a critical role in providing strategic financial support and guidance to senior management while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The successful candidate will have a strong background in forecasting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting and will play a key role in managing customer balances, overseeing tax compliance, and supporting the managerial and operational teams as a true business partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate revenue forecasts and profit & loss (P&L) projections while analysing actual performance against budgeted and forecasted figures.
- Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely collection of balances
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition for all legal entities
- Liaise with global finance teams to ensure consolidated results are accurately reflected.
- Ensure financial transactions are correctly posted in the accounting system and deliver timely and accurate financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Lead the preparation of financial statements, audit packs, and other external reporting requirements, including statutory financial reports.
- Work with the tax team to ensure regional tax filings are submitted in a timely manner and provide support for international tax filings where necessary.
- Support the implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures and contribute to the rollout of new ERP financial systems.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to meet fixed asset and inventory reporting requirements.
Key Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- 10+ Years experience
- Previous experience with large-scale projects based in Africa
- Experience in managing inventory and related reporting systems
- Proven experience in a finance management role within an operational setting
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial principles, particularly GAAP
