A rare opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Band 7 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join the Therapies team at Newham University Hospital as part of Barts Health NHS Trust. The post holder will be a qualified Physiotherapist, with at least 4 years postgraduate experience and 2 years’ experience within a Women’s/Pelvic Health specialty. They should be registered with the HPC and have completed a Musculoskeletal rotation at Band 6 level. They should have excellent baseline knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynecological conditions and physiotherapy management and have experience of treating a variety of Women’s/Pelvic Health inpatients and outpatients. Evidence of involvement in project management and audit will be desirable.
The post holder will be based at Newham University Hospital and join the wider Barts Health Pelvic Health team, which is based over two sites, Whipps Cross and Newham. They will have the opportunity to build and develop Gynecological specialist practice at NUH as well as Colo-rectal multi-disciplinary Specialist clinics. They will have supervisory responsibility for a Band 6 physiotherapists, Band 5 physiotherapists and students, providing appraisals, teaching and clinical support with managing demanding caseloads. They will work closely the Band 8a Clinical Lead for MSK Outpatient Therapies and contribute to the development of an Integrated Outpatient Therapy Service. This will further facilitate their managerial and leadership qualities. We have an excellent in-service training program and collaborate with relevant teaching with the Outpatient Musculoskeletal Team. We support you with post-graduate courses and modules and funding opportunities are available. The Pelvic and Women’s Health team has a strong Band 8 strategic and clinical leadership team, who support the Women’s Health Physiotherapy team to deliver the best possible patient care.
