Position Summary:
Mainly responsible for assisting in supervising the day-to-day machine activities and assets to meet the company’s strategic plan and supporting initiatives of Packaging Dept. in safe hygienic and efficient manner. More specifically, the Senior Operating Technician is accountable for ensuring the safe, reliable, compliant and cost-effective operation, and reliability of the Packaging Departments Machines and Assets.
To co-ordinate with the Maintenance Technicians for breakdown and planned /preventive maintenance services to ensure that all plant, systems and installations associated with the manufacturing plant is maintained to minimize equipment downtime and achieve higher productivity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Carry out regular inspection of equipment under plant maintenance to ensure that corrective action is taken where necessary.
- Ensure that equipment is in good operating condition and that
down time is recorded and corrective actions taken.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians for their day-to-day work effectively in a team environment to ensure that routine operations are being completed effectively, monitor log, and resolve operation and safety issues, assist with operational projects and ensure that works are completed on time in a satisfactory level.
- Assist with overhauls as per program for equipment which include, identification of external repair services if necessary
- Ensure daily plans are adhered to which optimally combine planned preventive maintenance and breakdown / emergency maintenance work.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety, and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the plant to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products and services and responsible environmental attitude.
- Assist Packaging Supervisor to schedule use of resources, equipment, materials), Maintain appropriate records and documents and submit reports as and when required. Support the development of more consistent work practices in the relevant area of responsibility.
- Ensure that all quality standards are met and that material defects are reported.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Higher Secondary School Certificate
- Technical Diploma in relevant area.
Minimum Experience:
3-5 years relevant work experience in the technical department of modern food manufacturing plant, preferably in the beverage industry.

- Excellent English (speak, read and write).
- Specific knowledge and understanding of both equipment and process operation in own area.
- Full knowledge of equipment and/or process parameters and controls.
- Complete knowledge of operating and safety procedures and standards.

- Ability to identify any non-compliance in quality parameters and take appropriate action.
