We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our team at a prominent commercial vehicle and equipment dealership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, controlling, and reporting all accounting-related activities within the company (AR, AP, GL, Bank and FA). This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our financial management and ensure our accounting practices align with regulatory and business standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general accounting and maintain fixed assets records for HE, DM, & FM categories.
- Oversee the processing of payables and manage monthly closing activities.
- Execute daily bank and cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Allocate monthly group costs and overheads to business units based on agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Transact and validate inter-company transactions for accurate reporting.
- Book all payable invoices in the Oracle system, ensuring proper matching with purchase orders.
- Manage bank and cash transactions, including monthly cash management reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly VAT reports from input and output VAT data generated by Oracle, reconciling with the trial balance.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow statements to monitor liquidity.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss and balance sheet statements.
- Support the annual audit process and monitor internal controls and compliance.
- Prepare annual budgets and collaborate with all divisions/departments to ensure adherence to fiscal year guidelines and templates.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in the commercial vehicle or equipment dealership sector or trading business.
- Proficiency in Oracle or similar accounting software.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and macros for analyzing and managing financial data.
- Strong understanding of VAT regulations and general accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments.
