Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation and analysis of financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory reports, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
- Supervise billing, collections, and payment processes.
- Optimize credit control processes to manage receivables and reduce outstanding debt.
- Establish vendor payment schedules while maintaining healthy cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and industry regulations.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
- Monitor tax compliance, including GST, VAT, customs duties, and corporate taxes specific to the logistics industry.
- Lead and mentor the accounts team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Conduct training sessions to upskill team members on financial tools and industry-specific accounting practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial and operational workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (mandatory).
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
- Minimum 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Prior experience in the logistics, supply chain, or transportation industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or industry-specific tools).
- Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
