Position Overview
A Land Surveyor is responsible for measuring and mapping land boundaries, topographies, and features using advanced tools and techniques. This role involves providing accurate data to support construction, engineering, and real estate projects, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards of the Kingdom. Land Surveyors play a vital role in planning and executing projects by defining land features and property boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct Land Surveys
Plan and conduct surveys to determine land boundaries, elevations, and topographies.
Use advanced surveying equipment, such as Total Stations, GPS, and drones.
Collect and analyze field data to create precise measurements and documentation.
2. Prepare Maps and Reports
Develop detailed maps, plats, and legal descriptions using surveying data.
Utilize software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS for map creation and data analysis.
Prepare reports and documentation for legal and construction purposes.
3. Collaborate with Project Teams
Work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to provide accurate survey data.
Interpret survey results for project planning and execution.
Offer guidance on property boundaries, easements, and zoning compliance.
4. Verify Land and Property Boundaries
Establish and verify property lines and land boundaries in accordance with legal standards.
Resolve boundary disputes by providing accurate and legally defensible survey data.
Ensure all surveys comply with local laws and regulations.
5. Maintain and Operate Survey Equipment
Calibrate and maintain surveying instruments to ensure accuracy.
Keep detailed records of equipment use and survey results.
Train team members on the proper use of surveying tools and techniques.
6. Support Construction and Development Projects
Provide layout and staking for construction projects to ensure accuracy.
Monitor project sites to ensure adherence to survey specifications.
Update survey data as construction progresses and changes are made.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Professional licensure or certification as a Land Surveyor (as required by the region).
3+ years of experience in land surveying or related fields.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with surveying tools and equipment such as Total Stations, GPS, and GIS systems.
Expertise in software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and surveying-related tools.
Strong understanding of topographic, boundary, and construction surveying methods.
