About the Client:
A leading global hedge fund with around 100 employees in London.
About the Communications Associate role:
An opportunity for someone who is looking to build on existing PR/communications experience and progress their career in a stimulating and challenging environment. Reporting to the International Media Relations Director and working with a tight knit global team, responsibilities will include:
- Media monitoring, including pulling together clips of news events, summarising information and providing succinct summaries of daily news.
- Supporting the team to respond to incoming media enquiries and handling requests from the media.
- Drafting press releases, briefing notes, editing copy and proofreading.
- Mapping out of conference landscapes and identifying possible speaking opportunities.
- Preparation of presentations and supporting on creative projects .
- Building relationships both internally and externally – liaising with investment professionals and departments in addition to external vendors, PR agencies and creative partners.
- Administrative support to include scheduling events/meeting and calls, monitoring of emails and building and maintaining journalist databases across geographies.
- Other duties as required.
Experience and Skills required:
- Prior communications experience from a financial PR agency or in-house environment is preferable. Candidates with corporate PR experience from other industries will be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Degree-educated (or equivalent).
- Ability to manage a high-volume, creative, fast-paced workload and meet a variety of deadlines.
- Flexible and team-orientated attitude – “no task is too small”.
- Strong relationship-builder; trustworthy, discreet and positive.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – particularly Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Familiarity with social media and business information platforms e.g. Factiva would be ideal.
