1.Profit & Loss Management:
·Develop and execute strategies to achieve revenue and profit targets set for the construction division, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
·Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to achieve budgeted P&L results.
·Drive cost optimization measures and revenue enhancement initiatives to maximize profitability.
2.Leadership and Team Management:
·Provide strong leadership and direction to department heads and their teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
·Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional development to ensure team engagement and effectiveness.
·Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering results.
3.Strategic Planning and Execution:
·Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the construction division, in alignment with market trends, customer needs, and technological advancements.
·Identify growth opportunities, evaluate market dynamics, and assess competitive threats to position the division for sustainable growth and success.
·Drive operational excellence initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across projects and operations.
4.Departmental Oversight and Governance:
·Provide oversight and direction to department heads in areas including Tendering, Marketing and Sales, MEP, Project Management, Operations, and others as applicable.
·Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices within each department.
·Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among departments to optimize resource utilization and drive synergies.
5.Stakeholder Management and Communication:
·Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
·Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align priorities, address concerns, and drive consensus on key initiatives and decisions.
·Represent the construction division in meetings, presentations, and negotiations as needed, advocating for divisional interests and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
·Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
·Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of delivering P&L results for civil construction based businesses.
·Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve excellence.
·Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and decision-making skills.
·Experience in bridges and roads construction would be an added advantage.
·Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
·Knowledge of relevant technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements in the construction domain.
