Overview
Role Overview:
The Financial Controller will oversee the company's accounting, financial reporting, payments, receivables, treasury, and tax functions. The incumbent will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintain accurate financial records, and support the company's financial health through effective financial management. The Financial Controller will report to the VP Finance.

Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including audit, book closure, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Payments and Receivables:
- Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Implement and maintain efficient payment and billing systems.
- Monitor aging reports and manage credit control procedures.
Treasury:
- Oversee cash management, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
- Manage banking relationships and optimize the company's capital structure.
- Develop and implement treasury policies and procedures.
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Coordinate tax planning and strategy to minimize tax liabilities.
- Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Develop and maintain a robust internal control environment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Lead internal and external audit processes.
Financial Strategy and Support:
- Support the CFO and executive team with financial strategy and decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business initiatives.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably in a startup environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent certification is required
