Devsinc is looking for a dynamic resource to join its team as the
Director of Professional Services.
This role also involves driving pre-sales strategies, developing winning bids, and aligning customer needs with the company's offerings. You will lead by example, ensuring that your teams follow the best engineering practices and embrace emerging technologies such as Generative AI (GenAI). Additionally, you will ensure the timely, high-quality, and scalable delivery of software services.
Key Responsibilities:
- P&L Ownership & Financial Management
- Lead the professional services portfolio with full P&L responsibility
- Manage financial KPIs like Gross Margin (GM) and contribution margin, ensuring project profitability
- Conduct financial analysis and implement strategies to enhance performance and profitability
- Project Management & Delivery Excellence
- Ensure on-time, high-quality project delivery to global customers, with a focus on engineering excellence and adherence to best practices
- Oversee large-scale software and IT service projects, ensuring efficient timeline management and high customer satisfaction
- Proactively manage project risks, resources, and customer expectations
- Engineering Excellence
- Champion engineering best practices, ensuring your teams adopt cutting-edge software development processes, tools, and methodologies
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in coding standards, testing, and automation, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions
- Implement DevOps principles to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency across all projects
- Ensure teams maintain high standards of software quality through code reviews, architectural governance, and compliance with industry best practices
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor up to 5 Project Managers and more than 100 engineers and team members across various roles
- Drive engineering excellence through structured learning, skill development, and technology adoption
- Support talent acquisition efforts to recruit top engineers and build scalable teams
- Foster a collaborative work culture, motivating your team to achieve continuous improvement in both engineering and project delivery
- Pre-sales Strategy & Leadership
- Own and lead pre-sales efforts, aligning engineering capabilities with customer business needs
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to craft technical solutions and proposals that resonate with customer expectations
- Lead technical bid strategies and present technical and business solutions convincingly during customer interactions
- Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers to drive long-term partnerships and repeat business
- Collaborate with internal teams such as HR, Finance, and Engineering to ensure smooth execution of projects and efficient delivery
- Act as the primary technical interface for customers, providing guidance on engineering and delivery-related concerns
- Technology Adoption & Continuous Learning
- Stay on top of the latest technology trends, particularly in GenAI and DevOps, incorporating them into project strategies to ensure cutting-edge delivery
- Lead initiatives to integrate innovative tools and technologies that drive team productivity and project outcomes
- Promote the ethical and responsible use of GenAI tools to improve engineering efficiency
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Professional Experience: 10+ years of experience in delivering large-scale software projects with a focus on engineering excellence. Proven ability to lead global teams, drive project profitability, and deliver high-quality customer engagements
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of software development life cycles, engineering best practices, and Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban). Expertise in financial management, including managing P&L, Gross Margin, and operational KPIs. Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development
- Leadership & Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams in both project delivery and engineering standards. Strong business acumen with a focus on balancing engineering excellence and financial performance. Effective problem-solving and risk management abilities
- Client & Business Acumen: Ability to engage with customers and provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Enthusiasm for Technology: Passion for emerging technologies like GenAI and a drive to incorporate these into project delivery and engineering practices
