Paralegals help attorneys address the most challenging legal and business issues in their department. They have a broad range of responsibilities, including performing research and drafting and reviewing documents. Also, they will form part of deal teams and support the attorneys with daily requests. Combining their own skills with the state-of-the-art technology, Paralegals helps Cadwalader attorneys provide a superior level of legal representation.
We currently have an open paralegal role supporting the Capital Markets Group
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Proofread and draft transaction documentation and client communications.
- Assist with closing – preparing signing packs, coordinating signing and completion.
- Act as a key member of the deal team on transactions.
- Draft and process legal response letters in connection with audit requests in compliance with established firm policy and procedure.
- Respond to Requests for Information.
- Assist with filing and transaction document management.
- Support lawyers with updating of precedents, legal research, pitch documents and responses to tenders as requested.
- Maintain knowledge management resources, ensuring the resources are properly organised and accessible.
- Type other correspondence and documents, as required, including any presentations and spreadsheets to the requisite standard of accuracy and within deadlines.
- Undertake searches and other routine enquiries (i.e. Companies House).
- Assist with business development and marketing.
- Produce high quality documents on MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel as required.
- Other general paralegal, organisational and administrative support as the need arises.
Requirements:
- Previous legal experience, preferably at a major City or US law firm, in a corporate discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word and other MS Office products.
- Confident and assertive with excellent communication and client (internal and external) liaison skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work with independence.
- Must be able to self-manage and deal with conflicting priorities from different sources.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is £36,000 to £40,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location from which the applicant will be performing the job.
