Job Overview
We are looking to recruit flexible, motivated Band 5 Cardiac Physiologists to join our supportive, dynamic and friendly team. You will be based at Wexham Park Hospital however there will be an expectation to work across site if required. The post holder will be competent working as an independent practitioner carrying out a broad range of diagnostic tests and procedures both non-invasive and invasive. You will be expected to assist in the training and supervision of junior staff. Be flexible to the changing needs of the department and participate in the out of hour on call service. The successful applicant will demonstrate a willingness to learn to further develop their knowledge and skills.
Main duties of the job
Cath lab experience working towards pacing implants and follow ups / IABP, TPW, on call for PPCI and Devices. Participate on the 24/7 primary service rota Ensure procedures are carried out in accordance with relevant policies and procedures and contribute to the development and review of departmental risk assessments, protocols, and guidelines To identify own training needs and ensure own clinical knowledge is updated along with technical developments within the field of Cardiology. Provide a high standard of patient care, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at all times. Medically unsupervised exercise testing as well as assisting in stress echo procedures Ambulatory monitoring and analysis including (BP and ECG). To have some experience in tilt testing

Essential criteria
- BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent
- RCCP membership or evidence of eligibility to apply
Desirable criteria
- ILS (Immediate Life Support)
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to use initiative, apply a problem-solving approach and to work unsupervised where appropriate
Experience
Essential criteria
- Wide range of knowledge in cardiac investigation procedures
- Proficiency in and a strong underpinning knowledge of exercise tolerance testing and resting and ambulatory ECG and BP recording and interpretation
- Basic competency in pacemaker implants and follow up and ILRs
Desirable criteria
- Basic knowledge and workings of the Cardiac Catheterisation lab. To understand what the cardiac physiologist’s role is
