This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, skilled, and capable Head of Improvement to be embedded in the Private Offices of the NHS Chief Executive (CEO), Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
This is a rich and varied role working across a wide range of programme areas and priorities to provide high-quality analytical support to the Private Office and involving close working with Senior Leadership and Ministers with a key focus on Urgent & Emergency Care Improvement.
The Head of Improvement role is key to ensuring the analytical needs of the CEO/COO/CFO Private Office are met, principally:
- To support Urgent & Emergency Care improvement, by ensuring CEO, CFO and COO have data and analytics they require to understand both UEC performance and wider NHS performance that impacts on the UEC pathways.
- To support ad hoc requests, either undertaking the work or working as air traffic control to intelligently translate, commission, direct, and support the work. These are not all simple data requests, they require an ability to interrogate the data and create an accurate narrative of what is happening and why, which can be used publicly when required.
- To improve our cross-cutting approach to operational information, such as ensuring dashboards meet the immediate day to day needs of CEO, CFO and COO; that they receive operational performance insights tailored to their requirements; and help to develop our organisational approach to light-touch evaluation.
