Overview:
Our client (start-up Biotech) is seeking a CEO with expertise in growth and scaling startups, preferably within the biotech sector or in tech startups.
This key role will lead the team, seek funding through various stages, and ensure sustainable and rapid company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and inspire the executive team, including the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Laboratory Officer, Chief Sales Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and the Finance Director. Currently they are 12 people and planning to expand the team soon.
- Scaling: Drive the growth and scaling of the company by developing strategies to expand the team and enhance operational capabilities.
- Funding Acquisition: Lead the search for funding at various stages of development, managing relationships with investors and securing the necessary capital for growth.
- Growth Strategy: Design and execute growth strategies to expand market presence, increase market share, and scale business operations.
- External Relations: Represent the company to investors, strategic partners, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Organizational Culture: Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and growth within the company.
Qualifications:
- Executive Leadership Experience: Previous experience as a CEO, COO, or in a senior leadership role, ideally in biotech or technology startups.
- Growth Knowledge: Proven experience in growth strategies and scaling startups or companies in expansion phases.
- Funding Experience: Ability to lead funding processes from seed capital to advanced investment rounds.
- Cross-Functional Team Management: Experience leading diverse teams across areas such as sales, strategy, technology, and finance.
- Industry Network: Strong connections in the biotech sector or in the tech and investor community.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in biotechnology, particularly in genomics or health technologies.
- Previous experience scaling tech-based companies (startups).
- MBA or advanced studies in business management or biotechnology.
- Ability to operate in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
