Job Description
This new position has been created to bring in-house accounting tasks that were previously outsourced or managed by the office team. As Assistant Accountant (m/f/d), you will collaborate with colleagues in the UK, Germany, and external advisors to manage a wide range of accounting functions across two sites in our growing UK operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking a varied and dynamic role in a busy and expanding business.Your main responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss and balance sheet reporting
- Manage purchase and sales ledgers, including reconciliations and payment processing
- Conduct bank postings and reconciliations
- Collate payroll information for external consultants and process HMRC payments
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Maintain the fixed asset register and process depreciation
- Support year-end audits, forecasting, and budgeting
Qualifications
- AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualified or currently pursuing AAT qualification
- At least 2 years of experience in a Finance department, ideally within a small to medium-sized company
- Proficiency in SAP and strong Excel skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work across two locations (Featherstone and Lichfield)
