Position Overview
A Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and infrastructure projects. This includes buildings, roads, bridges, dams, and other public and private structures. The role demands a thorough understanding of engineering principles, regulatory standards, and project management skills to ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Design
Develop detailed designs and plans for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry
standards and regulations.
Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and environmental impact assessments.
Prepare blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
2. Construction Oversight
Supervise construction sites and ensure that work aligns with project specifications, schedules, and
safety standards.
Monitor progress and coordinate with contractors, architects, and other engineers.
Inspect completed structures to ensure they meet design standards and safety codes.
3. Structural Analysis and Problem-Solving
Perform calculations to ensure the structural integrity and stability of designs.

4. Cost Estimation and Budget Management
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and project schedules.
Monitor project expenses and implement cost-control measures to prevent budget overruns.
Evaluate and negotiate contractor bids to ensure value for money.
5. Compliance and Documentation
Ensure projects comply with local, state, and national regulations and building codes.
Maintain detailed documentation, including design calculations, progress reports, and change orders.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction projects.

Qualifications and Skills
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred for senior roles).
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent certification is preferred.
Experience
3–7 years of experience in civil engineering or related fields.
Proven experience with infrastructure projects, including design and construction phases.
