The Role
We are currently #recruiting for a
Writer to work on the delivery of our services, which incorporate the provision of written records of meetings, conferences, and eventsfor our diverse clientele. You will be responsible for the conversion of audio/video recordings into written documents with a level of precision and accuracy that reflect our high-quality product. This role involves servicing our clients in Parliament to attend sessions in the House of Lords and Commons.
Overview
Our
Writers provide transcripts for meetings and events that are often very high level, high profile and of a technical nature. They include:
- Corporate communications & investor relations events
- Employee relations meetings
- Medical and pharmaceutical communication forums
- Governance meetings (including board, management and committee meetings)
- Legal proceedings and formal investigation processes
- Regulatory meetings and public consultations
- Roundtable and industry seminars
Main Responsibilities
- Attend, listen to audio and video recordings and transcribe spoken content accurately
- Ensure all transcripts adhere to our formatting guidelines and quality standards
- Review and edit transcripts for clarity, grammar and style
- Meet deadlines and manage workload efficiently
- Communicate effectively with our Sales, PM and Editor teams
Requirements
- English/Humanities degree
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail
- Strong command of the English language including grammar and punctuation
- Previous transcription experience is preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Demonstrably reliable internet connection (a corporate laptop will be provided to you for the duration of your contract)
- A test to demonstrate your skills will be sent as part of your application*
