Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement processes from requisition to delivery
- Provides technical support as required and assists in the preparation of the material procurement plan.
- Identifies, reviews, and monitors priority, long lead, and other required material, and ensures the proper coordination with other project disciplines to meet all procurement milestone dates.
- Must have thorough knowledge of procurement/materials practices, economic principles, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications
- Maintain inventory control, ensuring adequate supply levels
- Collaborate with project managers to align material needs with project timelines
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Evaluate material costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Generate reports on material status and procurement efficiency
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in material management, preferably within the Oil & Energy sector
- Has experience in the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries and has material procurement experience on large projects.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and practices
- Proficient in using ERP software, particularly SAP
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
