Responsibilities
- Perform inspections to assess the quality and integrity of mechanical equipment across various projects
- Facilitate the monitoring, inspection, and documentation of mechanical assets
- Verify the cleanliness and fit-up of weld joints prior to welding
- Oversee welding processes and assess electrode conditions, including necessary preheating
- Conduct visual examinations of completed welds for surface defects
- Coordinate required NDT (RT/PT/MT/HT/PMI) for finished welds
- Monitor and assess the PWHT setup and its outcomes
- Maintain thorough QC documentation including weld maps and tracking sheets
- Prepare daily reports for the Inspection Coordinator regarding project progress
- Address and resolve any quality and safety-related issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with mandatory Engineering documents based on company standards
- Collaborate with Inspection representatives for support during inspection activities
Requirements
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector in the Oil & Energy industry
- Proven experience in the Oil and Gas sector
- Mandatory certifications: API 510, API 570, and AWS-CWI and/or CSWIP-3.1 (all certifications must be currently valid)
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including API, ASME, and ISO
- Demonstrated experience in performing inspections and testing mechanical systems and equipment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics accurately
- Exceptional attention to detail and capability to document non-conformances effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams
