Responsibilities
Policies, Processes and Procedures -
- Provide inputs for improvement in civil discipline engineering works, specifications and best practices in line with overall functional goals and objectives
- Support implementation of new initiatives/projects as per the established policies, procedures and guidelines to meet the future demands
- Implement quality management system, processes and procedures, ensuring highest standards of safety & reliability across the project lifecycle and ensure the quality of civil discipline engineering deliverables is in accordance with organization QA programs and manuals
- Stay updated with knowledge of Indian/international codes, technology and practices in civil engineering for adoption of best practices
CSA Project Management -
- Support in the preparation of CSA engineering scope and work plans for projects, including engineering calculations, drawings, man-hour estimates, resource allocation, and reports, while ensuring the adequacy of scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- - Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry elements, and review fabrication drawings and connection designs as per relevant civil standards and applicable codes.
- - Prepare and check standard drawings, IFC drawings, 3D models, design guides, calculations, specifications, SOQ, conceptual designs, drawings for construction, and MTOs for accuracy to project scope.
- - Review and approve the list of CSA engineering designs and deliverables, emphasizing safety aspects and Quality Management System (QMS) norms.
- - Support standardization and department development activities in design engineering, including the review of standard drawings, preparation of design guides, specifications, and SOQs, to bring in value engineering and cost optimization practices.
- - Address issues and risks related to CSA engineering deliverables and implement required mitigation actions.
- - Ensure the timely delivery of technical specifications, drawings, calculations, etc., for CSA works, and secure on-time approval from relevant authorities.
- - Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to obtain data, issue interdepartmental disciplinary coordination (IDC) comments to other disciplines, incorporate comments provided by other disciplines, and attend review meetings when necessary.
- - Review site engineering requests (SER) and expedite their closure to manage changes effectively and efficiently.
- - Provide inputs for RFQ against the required CSA works in Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEBs).
- - Design and analyze modular structures, including lifting and transportation analysis.
- - Review geotechnical reports and prepare project-specific foundation design bases.
- - Participate actively in 3D model reviews and constructability reviews.
- - Develop layouts and plans, including interior and finishing schedules.
- - Review the preparation of site grading layouts and plan Oily Water Separators (OWS) and stormwater drainage systems.
Project Tracking & Reporting -
- Continuously track project schedule and budgets for civil discipline engineering works and report status on a regular basis to relevant stakeholders
- - Check that all engineering activities and deliverables for civil works are supported with appropriate qualification documentation and is appropriately stored. Ensure up to date drawings are maintained appropriately
- - Implement documentation practices across the project lifecycle for civil discipline engineering works as per defined standards for quality and efficacy
- - Provide input to PEM for preparation of project closure report
Compliance & Audit -
- Ensure adherence of all civil works to statutory safety standards, regulatory requirements and audit schedules
- - Analyse engineering activities for civil works are as per established internal environmental, health and safety, engineering and quality standards and procedures
- - Technical Audit for external consultants empanelled on specific projects
People Management -
- Participate in recruitment activities & ensure retention/engagement of own team
- - Set performance objectives of own team, evaluate/appraise team members and provide regular feedback & guidance
- - Guide, mentor and develop own team to take larger and complex responsibilities
- - Evaluate training and development requirements for own team and make recommendation for learning interventions
Education Qualifications - A bachelor's degree in civil engineering / architecture or equivalent or masters in structural engineering preferred.
Work Experience - minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in Designing of Civil structures for manufacturing facilities refinery, petrochemical, automobile plant, pharmaceutical plant or renewable energy plants.
