Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, review, and administer contracts related to oil and gas projects, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), maintenance, and service contracts.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with high-end clients, ensuring timely communication and resolution of any contractual issues.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate contractual risks and provide strategic advice on risk allocation and dispute resolution.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, regional, and international regulatory standards in contracts and project execution.
- Change Management: Evaluate contract changes, variations, and claims, preparing documentation and leading negotiations as required.
- Procurement Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, legal, and project management teams to align contracts with operational needs and project objectives.
- Cost and Payment Monitoring: Oversee cost tracking, milestone payments, and invoicing schedules, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Dispute Resolution: Lead and support in arbitration, claims, and dispute resolution processes as required by project demands.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience as a Contracts Administrator/Manager, preferably in oil and gas projects within the Middle East region.
- Middle East Experience Preferred: Deep understanding of regional industry norms, laws, and commercial practices is highly desirable.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Certifications:
- Preferred: Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), or equivalent certifications.
- Additional: Certification in Project Management (PMP or similar) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to manage high-end client relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex contracts.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across various teams and departments.
- Advanced knowledge of contractual laws, procurement processes, and industry-standard contract templates (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
- Fluency in English is mandatory
