Job Summary:
The Data Governance and Compliance Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring data governance policies and frameworks to ensure compliance with national and organizational data management standards. The role involves coordinating with internal departments, assessing adherence to governance and compliance policies, and driving improvements to achieve high compliance levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance and Compliance Planning:
- Develop and implement a compliance monitoring plan for data governance policies and procedures.
- Measure and ensure adherence to national and organizational data management and governance standards.
Policy Implementation and Monitoring:
- Ensure alignment with data governance and compliance policies issued by the Data Governance Office.
- Monitor the application of data management controls and compliance with relevant standards.
Performance and Compliance Reporting:
- Prepare reports on strategic and key performance indicators related to data governance and compliance.
- Analyze compliance levels and provide recommendations for improvements.
Coordination and Collaboration:
- Work closely with data management specialists to track and improve compliance with data governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with departments to address governance and compliance issues and enhance alignment with policies.
Compliance Assessments:
- Conduct compliance evaluations of data governance policies and standards.
- Report findings and provide actionable recommendations to improve compliance levels across the organization.
Regulatory Knowledge and Application:
- Stay updated on local and international regulations related to data protection, management, and governance.
- Ensure compliance with national and global standards in data management and governance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in data governance, management, and compliance.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for data protection, governance, and compliance.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of national and international standards for data governance and compliance.
- Ability to collect and assess organizational requirements for compliance in data management and governance.
