About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Shared Services Team Leader to oversee and enhance our shared services operations in Dubai. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient financial processes, delivering high-quality service to clients, and leading a team of junior accountants. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and accounting principles, combined with excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of junior accountants to achieve individual and team objectives.
- Oversee team workload to ensure timely completion of deliverables, including reconciliations, financial reports, and compliance filings.
Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate preparation and timely submission of UAE VAT returns and Corporate Tax compliance requirements.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and guide the team in adapting to changes.
Process Management & Improvements:
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for shared services functions.
Client Onboarding & Support:
- Oversee the onboarding of new clients, ensuring a seamless integration into the shared services framework.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving financial or operational issues promptly.
Financial Reporting:
- Ensure the preparation and delivery of accurate financial statements, reconciliations, and other financial reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
Risk & Quality Management:
- Maintain attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance with local regulations.
- Identify and mitigate risks in financial processes and client deliverables.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and accounting standards (eg. IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
