Job Purpose:
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for analysing financial reports and budget expenditure to minimise overspending and ensure abidance with plans and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes in line with leading practices.
- Establish working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Collect feedback from internal stakeholders on issues being faced and other requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of progress reports directed to all relevant stakeholders to keep them informed of progress.
- Support the planning of workshops schedules and logistics with internal functions for the communication of developed budget guidelines and tools.
- Gather all relevant information, that include historical data and reports, to assist in forecasting GASTAT finances.
- Receive function specific budget proposals and verify that all required information has been provided.
- Receive budget needed for purchase requisition and ensure all required information has been provided in coordination with Procurement function.
- Coordinate with GASTAT functions to receive their periodic expense reports and collect needed data to track expenses.
- Support in analysis of foretasted and actual expenses to highlight any deviations in budget implementation.
- Archive approved budgets and documents within their relevant financial period to ensure availability of resources for future reference.
- Collect expenditure reports and ensure all required information has been provided in coordination with concerned GASTAT functions.
- Receive and assess functions’ budget modification request, collect detailed justifications and submit to relevant stakeholders for approval.
- Receive and assess budget transfer requests from concerned stakeholders and ensure their compliance with approved forms and templates.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a Finance field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent is required.
